Dr. Cruz Accepting Patients in Lamoni
Dr. Abel Cruz is now available for appointments at the Community Health Centers of Southern Iowa’s Lamoni office on 911 North Main Street every Thursday. Call 641.784.7911 Wednesday and Thursday or 641.446.2383 Monday, Tuesday, and Friday to make an appointment with him.

Dr Abel Cruz began providing medical care to the Decatur County communty last September. Prior to coming to Decatur County, Dr. Cruz worked at Nebraska Methodist Hospital’s Geriatric Evaluation and Management Clinic and Methodist HealthWest Physicians Clinic as a Geriatric Medicine Consultant. He was also Medical Director of Brookestone Village Skilled Nursing Facility in Omaha.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Rheumatology. Certification means that a physician has successfully completed an approved educational and training program and a rigorously evaluation process designed to assess the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to provide high quality patient care in that specialty.
Dr. Cruz received his medical degree from the University of the Philippines and completed his training at the State University of New York at Brooklyn (Internal Medicine), University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (Internal Medicine), State University of New York at Stony Brook (Geriatric Medicine Fellowship and Rheumatology Medicine Fellowship). He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and a member of the American Geriatrics Society.
