CHCSI Adds Behavioral Hours at Lamoni

Mark Hensley, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with the Behavioral Health Centers of Southern Iowa (BHCSI), an affiliate of the Community Health Centers of Southern Iowa (CHCSI), will be accepting clients in CHCSI’s Lamoni facility at 911 E. Main beginning September 8th.
Mark Hensley is the Clinical Director of the Behavioral Centers of Southern Iowa. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska with Masters Degree in Adult Psychiatric Nursing. Hensley received a BSN in nursing from Graceland University. He is a Board Certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with emphasis as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. With 28 years experience, he is Iowa’s only Certified EEG Neuro-therapist.
“I know that one of the biggest difficulties facing people with behavioral issues is proximity to someone who can help them,” Hensley said. “I think that by just being near people who need help in Lamoni, we will find that they will seek us out. Having a problem is not longer looked at as the stigma that it once was. Not doing something about it is,” Hensley added.

“The Behavioral Health Centers of Southern Iowa offers affordable, comprehensive, and coordinated behavioral health care,” Gary Rees, CEO of CHCSI, said. “The Behavioral Health Centers of Southern Iowa has a sliding fee scale for those who cannot afford regular payments or who do not have insurance coverage. In addition, BHCSI works with Decatur, Ringgold, and Clarke counties to provide psychiatric and behavioral services to residents of their counties,” Rees offered
The Behavioral Health Centers of Southern Iowa provides expert treatment to individuals suffering from a broad range of problem including one-on-one, couples, and group therapy, psychiatric evaluation, biofeedback, neuro-feedback, psychosocial evaluation, disability evaluation, psychiatric follow-up, medication monitoring, and involuntary commitments.
Last year, the Behavioral Health Centers of Southern Iowa saw over 3,500 individuals, couples, families, and groups. “Often times, individuals are referred for treatment, but it is important to know that if they have a problem, they can make an appointment themselves,” Hensley emphasized.
