To the Editor:
The Community Health Centers of Southern Iowa (CHCSI) opened its doors on April 1 st. This could never have happened without the hard work and dedication of many people. Certainly its Board of Directors and those who have long been involved in the Healthcare Development of Lamoni head that list. The current staff and advisors are on that list also.
But there would have been no doors to open if it were not for the Decatur County Hospital (DCH) and its Board of Directors. As we all began to build the CHCSI in early January, DCH loaned us space, equipment, and supplies and most of all they unselfishly shared their staff expertise with us. Finally, this week the Board of Directors voted to lease us the FOCUS Building for a nominal amount of rent.
The Community Health Centers of Southern Iowa owes a great deal to the Hospital, and since “thank you” only begins to recognize their contribution, we hope that our actions in the future as we work together continue the “pay back” process. You can expect us to be a very important part of healthcare in Southern Iowa, a good neighbor in our community, and a true partner with Decatur County Hospital.
Our thanks to all those who helped us along the way – now, come on in and let us help meet your healthcare needs.
Regards,
Gary C. Rees
