Dr. Patricia Magle Leads
Clinical Team
In
January, 1984, Dr. Patricia (Pat) K. Magle began as a Family
Practitioner in Decatur
County. She
received her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan which she completed in
1977. She finished her residency program at the West Suburban
Hospital Family Practice Residency in Oak Park, IL.
Dr.
Magle began her medical career as a Family Practice Physician providing
both inpatient and outpatient primary medical care at the Wholistic
Health Center in Oak Park, IL where she worked from August, 1980 to
December, 1982. In January, 1983, she became the College
Physician at Graceland
University where
she continued through 1991. While working as Graceland’s
physician, she joined the Decatur Medical Services in 1984.
In 1997, Dr. Magle and two other concerned
residents of Decatur
County had their
first of several meetings in the Pizza Shack in Lamoni (See: History
of the CHCSI).
Healthcare Development of Lamoni was formed out of these
meetings.
First, HDL surveyed the community for healthcare needs and next stepped
forward to raise local funds and secured a low interest loan which
allowed them to build a new clinic facility which was located in Lamoni
and leased to the Decatur Medical Services.
HDL
was the predecessor organization of the Community Health Centers of Southern Iowa which applied several times for a
grant to be considered to be a Federally Qualified Health Center.
After several attempts, the CHCSI was awarded a grant of $650,000 and
received notification of this award on December 6th, 2004.
